The Palestinian-led movement called Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions, better known as BDS is making news again. The global campaign, which seeks to delegitimize Israel by focusing on economic and political pressure over the Jewish State's treatment of Palestinians, has been around for more than a decade. Last week the debate played out on Capitol Hill with the U.S. House of Representatives passing a resolution condemning the movement. CGTN's "The Heat" weighs in.
Part I includes an interview with Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the BDS Movement, followed by Daniel Pomerantz, the executive director of Honest Reporting and an attorney.
Part II includes a debate between Matthew RJ Brodsky and Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of the digital Arabic news and opinion site, Rai al-Youm and founder and editor-in-chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi.
